Through the project, we have offered the citizens of 4 Bucharest neighbourhoods (Lacul Tei, Floreasca, Prelungirea Ghencea and Cotroceni) the opportunity to get involved in identifying and solving the community problems that they are facing. They have been supported through extensive facilitation processes and community development models inspired by the experience and expertise of the Swiss partners Lausanne Municipality and through a series of advocacy campaigns for a variety of cases: from a dry lake or an illegal construction up to the need to expand a boulevard. Hundreds of people participated in the advocacy actions that targeted dozens of public institutions. Throughout the project, public consultations, petitions, protests, attendance at meetings or audiences with representatives of local authorities took place. The 4 civic initiative groups now have an increased capacity to mobilize and engage in decision-making.
