Cultural bridges for the sustainable development of micro region Tinutul Padurenilor – Tara Hategului

We aimed to increase the economic and community development capacity of the Ținutul Pădurenilor – Țara Hațegului microregion, with a focus on culture and sustainable tourism. 11 people took part in a Train the Trainers course held by the Swiss partner, focused on community facilitation methodologies, good practice cases, recommended types of interventions for the micro-region of the project. 31 participants benefited from the “Community Development Facilitator and Entrepreneurial Competences” certified training courses. We organized a study visit to Switzerland to analyze the methods of developement of Swiss rural tourism. We also conducted the cultural mapping of the Ținutul Pădurenilor – Țara Hațegului micro-region, embodied in a platform / cultural map, a smartphone application and a catalog of tourist attractions, available in Romanian and English. Moreover, we have developed a cultural and tourism strategy for the area and we established the “Association for the Promotion of the Values of the Ținutul Pădurenilor – Țara Hațegului Micro-Region”. We also organized several events to promote the cultural and economic identity of the area, attended by more than 500 visitors.
