We have contributed to setting up a multi-sensory therapy room for children and young people with neuro-psycho-motor disabilities in Iasi. We have assessed 33 children and young people with disabilities, who received sensory stimulation therapies based on previously established individual plans. 98 parents/ family members were involved in a parent education program. In addition, we have set up a N-E regional network for professionals working in the disability sector, joined by 24 NGOs and 36 specialists. The transfer of know-how and expertise was carried out during 5 working visits to 5 NGOs recognized for their expertise in this field, attended by 33 specialists from 21 NGOs. We have also analyzed the disability legislative component through direct consultation on enforced legislation with representatives of public and private institutions in 4 regional debates in Iasi, Bacau, Barlad and Suceava. At the same time, we have consulted with the representatives of the Ministry of Labor during 5 meetings where the following actions took place: amendments to the methodology for licensing and monitoring of the protected units, feedback regarding the special conditions for obtaining the license, regarding the licensing procedures and the status of the personal professional assistant. It was also discussed the Order regarding the monthly allowance for disabled adults from public residential centers for adults with disabilities or for their family members. Finally, we have developed a social policy monitoring document on the rights of people with disabilities.
