Through this project, we have renovated and equipped with toys, coloring books and TVs two visiting rooms in Iasi and Vaslui penitentiaries, in order to create a friendlier environment for children who come to visit their parents. Following renovations, 4,972 children have visited their imprisoned parents. Moreover, through the “My parent is in prison – creative tools for support and understanding” training supported by 2 trainers from RiksBryggan/ Bufff NGO in Stockholm, we have supported about 22 social workers and psychologists from Alternative Sociale Association, Iasi and Vaslui penitentiaries, school inspectorates, police, but also from local social service providers, in order to develop their working skills in relation to the children whose parents are imprisoned.
