We have been able to develop an interview protocol, i.e. a standard work procedure for all professionals who use the technique of interviewing/ hearing the minor in order to obtain information. This protocol has been developed with the support of experts and has as a model the “NICHD International Evidence-Based Investigative Interviewing of Children”. This tool helps the case manager (psychologist or social assistant) to obtain quality information from the child who has been a victim of domestic violence in order to identify his/her needs accurately and to establish an appropriate intervention plan. The implementation of the “Interview Protocol” leads to an effective interview/ hearing centered on the interest of the child who has been a victim of violence and respect of his/her rights. We have also tested the joint hearing by the police/ prosecutor and psychologist/ case manager in Child Protection, an innovative national solution that reduces the length of the interview/ hearing and the prompt access to the needed social services.
