The project has supported the development of regional fire centers, particularly in the Operation Villages Roumains partner communities. We have continued with the development process of 4 emergency centers already in existence by training volunteer firefighters and endowment with specific equipment. At the same time, we have set up 3 new centers in Cornești (Cluj county), Sânmartin (Bihor county) and Plăieșii de Jos (Harghita county). The activity of Voluntary Emergency Services in the existing and created centers has increased by 90%, reducing the intervention time in case of fire, natural calamities and other emergencies. The project was based on volunteer fire service donations from various cantons in Switzerland that consisted of intervention vehicles, towable ladders, personal protective suits, breathing apparatuses etc.
