The mountain area - centre of romanian rural space

Implementing this project, we aimed to raise the awareness of the citizens and the local administration about the natural, cultural and landscape values offered by the mountainous area of Sibiu and Brasov counties. More than 1,900 people (farmers, pupils, students, amateur artists, volunteers) participated in a multitude of project activities, from workshops to junior ranger camps, performances and competitions. With the help of the volunteers, we managed to restore the markings of 7 tourist trails in the Cindrel Mountains and set up several resting places. More than 310 pupils and students have improved their knowledge on environmental protection and some of them have participated at practical activities to identify flora and fauna. 298 farmers have improved their knowledge on sustainable agriculture and environmental protection. Also, more than 930 pupils attended exhibitions on environmental issues, organized by schools.
