During the project, we have managed to improve the understanding of environmental conditions from the rural communities in the north-west of Romania. 750 people from rural areas have participated in the public meetings we organized. Also, 12 local authorities from 6 counties have established contacts with local NGOs and their relations have been strengthened. In 12 rural communities, we have identified and debated on the environmental issues, and with the help of the organization we created connections between different institutions. An important outcome of the project was also that local authorities from rural areas were informed about news regarding environmental related legislation. Also, all municipalities participating in the project were informed as soon as environmental protection related legislative proposals or new regulations appeared.
