Three community, two Natura 2000 sites, one NGO – Together for developping and conservation!

The project targeted the Putna-Vrancea Natural Park community, a very valuable area with a very rich biodiversity. In order to protect the area and help the community, we have created a tourism agency with ecotouristim profile, we certified 6 tour guides, and launched a website for the promotion of the area: http://wildcarpathiaadventure.ro. The community has been involved in working groups and in the organization of 2 fairs that promote local producers and traditional products. The fairs and workshops continued to be organized the next year by the community. The owners of guest houses and the local producers have been involved in the agency’s ecotourism activities and have been promoted through the website. Also, through the agency, 8 groups of foreign tourists were attracted to the area, and they have been accompanied by certified guides. We have also been able to involve the local authorities in the activities we have carried out within the project. Through all these initiatives, we have managed to provide the local community with a sustainable alternative in a region where forest exploitation is a problem.
