One of the objectives we have proposed in this project was to inform and train teachers from Targu-Mures to integrate children with autism spectrum disorders. As a result, 36 teachers from 26 institutions participated in specific training on diagnosis, needs and integration of children with ASD. At the same time, 6 psychologists and 2 volunteers have been given the opportunity to learn how the use ASRS (Autism Spectrum Rating Scale) and PEP-3 (Psychological Profile – Third Edition) acquired by Alpha Transilvana Association. Subsequently, 36 children were tested using these assessment tools. At the same time, 361 children from 8 kindergartens in Targu-Mures participated in the screening conducted and 16 children were diagnosed as presenting signs of autism. Parents of children with autism benefited from individual and/or group counseling in 12 group meetings and 94 individual meetings. Another important result of the project was the production of informative posters about the symptoms of autism and their distribution to all kindergartens and family doctors offices in Targu-Mures.
